Default If you don't fix noticeable things, or safety items etc, you won't get a dime for a car...

...who wants to buy something with a lot of obvious problems? I wouldn't.

Default That is SO not true. The last car I sold needed a clutch and heater core. The first person .....

who looked at it bought it anyway-he knew it needed these. But the car looked and ran well and was priced under $2000.
The car I sold before that needed a steering rack. You could hardly steer it. About the third person who looked at it bought it. Again it was less than $2000.
Any car will sell if it is less than $2000. I've sold over 100 cheap used cars.

Default okay on $2000 heaps, maybe...but when people look at Audis, you get suckes who don't know a thing...

...or people such as most of us on the forum. Who know the cars, ask questions...

It's a lot easier to sell some used $2000 honda then it is a $2000 Audi...chances are the Audi will have a lot more problems for $2000.........

I think that a $2000 Audi would sell easily, problems and all.

Default You should see a $2000 Audi here in CO, I'd stay away...

...rattled to all hell from our roads, front end/lower side panels are pitted, and, a lot of Audi owners here drive 'em till they won't drive no 'mo. They take more of a beating here in the mountains than in Florida, although they don't rust...

$2K here would get you a '87 5000CSq with 250K+ mi, a '88-90 80q or 90q with 175K+, etc...not much of a car, and I've looked at enough $2000 and less cars, by that point, they're pretty tired to say the least.

Default Oh, OK. I've never seen one in that kind of shape. Dragline said his looked and drove good......

I have never seen an Audi that looked like the junkers you are talking about. The car has to look pretty decent to sell, if it looks OK them people will overlook mechanical problems. Maybe not the first or second person to look at it but someone always came along. I sold a Honda CRX with a totally blown engine that had to have a gallon of water poured into the radiator before it could be driven each time-for $1300, and the guy was very happy to get it! It smoked like a chimney from a cracked engine block. But it was very pretty.
