Default Here are my emissions test FAIL results!!! Your advice needed...

It failed the driving part of the test but passed the idle part. anyone have an idea of what it can be?? im thinking catalytic. before the test i replaced spark plugs, cap and rotor, cleaned fuel distributor, cleaned IVC, ran seafoam 2 tanks before test(did not test with seafoam in fuel). fixed vacumme leak i had at IVC hose(ran alot better after the fix)used vacumme to see if any other leaks where present and there was nothing. i had the timing retarted for the test. let me know your thoughts thanks.

If, by "Crankcase Hose," you are referring to the 3" diameter air intake, absolutely YES that is your problem. If that's collapsed, not enough air gets to the engine, causing you to run rich.

Add a couple gallons of e85 to your tank, you'll pass with flying colors.

It's the same difference. You're suffering a combination of both a major vacuum leak AND an unmetered intake air leak.

As for E85, IMHO that stuff burns WAY too fast and is WAY too caustic for our ignition systems. You'll give the sensors fits, and likely set the "CEL" a-burnin' bright.

would the collapsed hose cause a problem with the test??
e85 is 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline.
