Default Hey Mik Tip I would appreciate some advice.

I have a 1993 Audi 90 Cs quattro. I really like the car and it has about 203000 miles on it, and it is burning oil pretty bad. The head gaskets are shot, I re torqued the heads but I am going to replace them soon. But since the heads will be off the car I am going to re build them, I was thinking about porting and polishing the heads but I would like an opinion on how much of a difference that really does for performance? Also if I am going to do this should I think about doing a ring job right away? I am just thinking about how much time I want to put into this job, since I am a student I would be without my ride for about a week .

Thanks
Nick

203000 miles! Thats some mileage!

Burning oil pretty bad? I'd fix everything you can, while your there.

The port & polish job takes some time to do.
To fully gain from it you must do the intake manifold, Throttlebody, & exhaust manifold.
Plus have a more free-flowing exhaust system, and the cone filter & a set of cams.

This way the entire intake & exhaust "system" is modified, and gains fully from mods.

Simply porting the heads alone will yield nothing.
Because nothing infront of them is modified, & nothing behind.

I dont believe anyone can really port & polish a set in a week. They take time, and its something you dont want to rush.
