The Seidl piece for 90's and CQ's thet Strictly Foreign is selling, is it a bumper cover that covers the metal DOT bumper in stead of the OEM cover or is it a total bumper piece thet replaces the DOT bumper with the EURO RS2/S2 bumper that is not legal in the USA? Have you seen the piece up close and what kind of workmanship are we looking at here? Thanks.

It is a replacement piece of fiberglass. You will have to dismantle to bumper, then take the metal piece out of the old bumper. Install this and the new fiberglass piece, and voila. Those pictures were taken in my basement. I'd have to say the quality is pretty good. Removing the oem fiberglass piece, its very "spaghetti like." The new one is rather rigid, although yes it is flexible. I will show everybody pictures when I get it installed.

If the new bumper has to have the metal part installed into it, then how do you access these bolts? Is there something similar to the OEM clips?

The metal part may not HAVE to be installed, but you're probably a moron not to. Safety wise, that is. If you're looking to cut some serious weight, you'll drop 30 pounds *I believe* with that metal piece. As I've stated a couple times I am probably going to wait a while to put everything on, for fear that the winter weather and my pizza boy job will hurt it. I think my basement is just going to become storage for a lot of aftermarket products. Anyways, falling off subject, I think that the bolts will have to be modified, unless the metal piece is connected. A good person to ask would be MikTip, he has a lot of random diagrams of "blown up" audi stuff. But I know it can be done.

I found this on www.mofocoauto.com. It is for an RS2 bumper but I think its basically the same thing. It looks pretty good, really well explained.
"You can reuse the original bumper support but it will require notching it on each end on the outer side with a horizontal slot 2.5" wide and 3.5" long to clear the turn signal/fog/driving lights that go in the bumper corners.
The bumper support will then need to be epoxied or fibergalssed to the back side of the bumper cover. The fiberglass cover is more rigid than the original cover and it does not require as many auxilliary supports as the original cover.

Primoa90: How about some shots of the rear or backside so some of us can get an idea on how this part goes on. It would be a good aid to those of us who decide to buy this piece so we can formulate ways to mount this thing. We then can share our ideas with those who have also got one.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I'm going to make one large post tomorrow. The installation is looking to be slightly difficult, but I didn't spend nearly sufficient time doing so. I literall took the bumper off, put the cover on, and then realized I had work. I don't plan on an install for another few months, however. I'm going to attempt an RS2 conversion, probably minus the engine though, since I'm not made of $$.
