You'll have to change your headlights to the 93-95 style to fit it.

i have a "cheap aftermarket" B4 hood on my car. its actually much lighter than the normal B4 hood, and even the B3 hood it replaced. almost as light as my glassfibre hood. don't knock em til you try em. no problems except the nearly 3 years of stone chips (which arent all too bad).

btw, jaxen is right, you just have to get a latch setup so you can open your hood (hood pins work ).

Can you verify this Cuattrokoop? I know you have been around the block several times with conversions of this sort, in fact you may be the resident specialist of this sort. BTW what's the skinny on not needing alot to do a hood changeover, I know somebody posted on the 20V site a letter saying that you didn't need all that many parts to do the changeover. Was he talking out of his hat? Do you remember that letter?

Can someone give me a list of the parts i need to do the conversion? the hood is from some online oem company, it says normally the hood is 430 and they sell it for 127 so your saveing around 300. i dont know how good it is but i thought it was stock. Can you buy the RS2 grill insert with the flag on it? that would be sick! can i do the hood changeover and then do the headlights after? or vise versa?
thanks again

well, if you just want the hood, and NOT the lighting, then you should be able to get away with swapping hoods and latch parts. everything else should line up (the lock carriers, aka rad. supports, are nearly the same, just minor revisions for better fitment of latch hardware and different lights). i don't think you can use the B3 lower trim (metal), or the B4 headlamp trim (rubber gasket) with this conversion. the full conversion is what i would recommend, but it does cost more (duh).

ALL PARTS FROM THE '93 TO '98 90/CABRIO (any version)

hood
Left/Center/Right lock carriers (correct term)
hood latch hardware (body side included w/center carrier, so you need the hood side)
headlamp trim (rubber gasket) w/rivets (plastic rivets, easy to break, order 2x as many)
under headlamp trim (plastice, a couple choices, 2 pieces, or 1 full width piece)
headlamps (if you get the DOT B4 units, then you keep your turn sigs)
sound dampening pad for hood (reuse the B3 rivet/screws if possible)
grille w/hardware
emblem w/hardware (different than B3)
S2 or RS2 or quattro emblem w/hardware (if you want it)

i THINK that is what is needed for the full DOT conversion. NOTE: on the CQ, as well as any other 5 cylinder B3, you will have to trim the center lock carrier to fit the crossmember. the 4cyl car may not have to do any trimming (different x-member).

also, at sometime, i thought somone posted a pic of the partial B3 to B4 convert (just the hood) to the 20v list. possibly from this past summer?? i know its been done before. there is also a list, WITH part numbers, possibly on brandon hulls ersatz S2 site. check the 20v site for a link, i dont remember it.

and yes, you can do either order (hood - lights, lights - hood), really shouldnt matter. personally, i'd wait cause you'll want the hood and the carriers painted body color.
