Default touche, but either way, its one bolt,as opposed to 8...

and there's really no way of getting it off timing if you dont seperate the cog from the HB, since its keyed.

I like toothpicks, WD40 aerosol with a straw stem and Q-tips. 5 minutes tops!

Default yep and it's getting all the timing belt tools in place and re-torque to 148+1/2 turn...

when done versus the 5 minutes to get those 8 screws out and remove "only" the HD which is all he's trying to do.

And this is not "your" timing tools. Not NG timing tools. We're talking a dual head motor here.

Default I never remove the 8 bolts; always the one center bolt.

Much easier, you get the chance to inspect the key on the sprocket for damage, and you can change the crank seal.

Just remember that you are supposed to change the bolt.

A little valve grinding compound on the allen key/socket helps too.

2nd..remove to replace the crank seal! (i never replaced that bolt though)

i realize that, i removed mine to replace the leaking crank seal too.
