Default How important is it to keep the brake splash shields on the car?

Just replaced a bearing and looked over the splash shield. It is just a piece of sheet metal cut to the size of the rotor. I had done the Porsche BBK mod awhile back and this POS really does not serve a purpose other than to collect water and rust.
Who has gotten rid of there's?

Default Mine got dumpstered when I did my brakes. I don't notice any problems even on really wet and

snowy days.
