How much does a new suspension settle? And how long does it take for it to set?

If you take your car to the track, and put on a few good laps, the suspension will probably settle that day! However this depends greatly on what brand of shocks you have. Get them real hot(working) and they'll fade. Springs usually settle within 1000 miles on a "street" driven car.(average) How much a specific setup settles depends on its use, and brand of shocks.
There's no real "text book" answer.

Got my KW coilovers installed and lowered the car yesterday. I wasn't quite sure how low I should go, since I was made aware that the car would come down by itself quite a bit. Does a car settle more with coilovers or not? BTW, how much did you lower yours, Miktip?

...got connections to Germany and had them special build for my car,
paid 1100.- for the version 2. The cheapest quote I got here was 2000.- .
I think this was a really good deal.

I can "slam" my car to the ground. However the lowest setting is not very functional. I've found
for spirited driving my shocks need a minimum
of 1.5-2 inches of travel to function properly.
Road condition plays an important factor on setting the coils. The lower the car is, the easier it is to bottom out the shocks. For shows
you can set them as low as you like since the car wont be driving. For real world road conditions,
keep about 1 inch gap between fender & tire to start with. Then maybe lower maybe 1/2 inch more and see how the car responds. Avoid large bumps!
Another reason I buy Bilsteins. Lifetime warranty!
