How much longer can I expect this 2.8 to last?

I'm curious about the longevity of these engines and how much more life I can expect out of the one I've got.
It's a 175k mile 2.8 in a 1995 90. I've put about 7k miles on it and have had basicly no trouble with the engine. Currently it's eating about a quart of oil every 1k miles. There's no evidence of it leaking on the driveway so I guess it's probably burning it. The timing belt is good for another 30k.
How long do these things typically last and how much longer do you think this one's got? I can afford something newer, but I like this car and if I can be resonably sure the motor isn't going to give out in the next 10k miles I'd like to throw some wheels and maybe some shocks on it and keep it for a while.

i could have thrown no-smoke in it, but i want to do things right so it will last a long time. plus, years ago, i thought the oil light liked to wink at me for fun, so that didnt help me now
