Default to answer my own question...

went to yahoo and typed in waxing rims. Got this site, with some good advice. Go to the post at the bottom, the guy does a good job of explaining.

http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27477</a

Default Here's a helpful link... (Whoops... for NateWhite)

EDIT: D'oh! I thought this was the guy with the 16" RXs from a few days ago!

Refurbishing BBS Split Rims

The refinishing may be something you can handle yourself, depending on how bad the wheels actually are. I've helped do about a dozen lip replacements on BBS RMs (from VWs) now, and although it's a PITA, it doesn't require that much skill.

Also, to answer your question from a few days ago that I never got around to responding to, the tool you need for those bolts is an 8mm (IIRC) 12-point socket. If yours are 3-piece wheels (I think they are), you need a 10mm for the inside as well.

I hope to get around to refinishing my beauties soon as well...

Hey NateWhite: Are your wheels 4x108... or are they made for a Porsche?

Default regular car wax works just as well. and is cheaper.

liquid wax is easiest to do it with. just make sure and put on like 4 coats.

Default Oh man, those are SWEET...

Mine are 15", 4×108. I'm kinda mad because they will limit me in terms of upgrading my brakes... oh well, I guess I'll have to focus on extreme weight reduction!
