how much work is involved in putting a 10v or a 20v turbo in an 88 90q ? (wiring wise)

Default how much work is involved in putting a 10v or a 20v turbo in an 88 90q ? (wiring wise)

i know some of you did it .. i wonder how hard/easy is to put the wiring harness together so the original harness will mate with the new engine harness ... any writeups/tips on this ?

Default If I were you, I'd visit motorgeek.com and do some research there.

Excellent website with a lot of project cars similar to what you want to do. A word of caution though, your pocketbook will cry mercy before all is said and done.

Default thanks ! a good friend has a ~300hp race car 90q with a 10vturbo that i might grab

and he has a totaled 200 20vt with a good engine awaiting transplant into the race car .. so i'l have a handful of parts to work with.

Default hmm... theoretically the engine should be ready to go

so besides a tune up, clutch and some misc parts it should be doable .. and the work .
one thing i suck @ badly is wiring/electric stuff ..
oh well i'll see if this will happen .
for now the 90q is just a daily driver.

It's a lot of work, and to do it "right" will cost a lot of dough, but you'll really enjoy the end result.

Default Don't forget the IC and plumbing too, IM/rad interference

There are a number of gotcha's that you need to deal with. Nothing too bad if you read about the conversions that have already been done.
