i have a 1988 90 and i needed to replace the driver's side outer CV boot. i separated the joint from the hub, and i'm now lost as to how to separate the CV joint itself from the axle.

this isn't like the newer 90's which have an allen _bolt_. this hub connects to the joint by a _nut_. anyone have a clue here? it seems as if it should be so simple, but it's just not budging.

well, here's a bit more of what i've discovered. right as the axle connects to the inner race, there's a plastic washer type thing with a small divit in one side. this rotates independently of the cv joint and the axle. any clue what i should be doing here?
