Default sidewall: must be destroyed --- tread: can be sealed

I found a huge screwdriver bit embedded in my tread last month - I've been driving on the seal ever since.

I cut my inner sidewall on something under the car last year - had to replace all 4 tires.

what's a sidewall? the nail doesn't appear to be very big.

The sidewall is the side wall of your tire. Not the part that touches the ground.

I drive around with a small tool box in the trunk with a plug set. If you get the ones with a actual T type handle it's easy to fix the tire. All you have to do is go to a gas station, find the leak and plug it. Takes 4 minutes. Do it yourself and costs maybe $0.30 each time.

Default i tend not to use plugs, certain states have made them illegal, they can cause blowouts.

i just go to the discount tire/tire america and have em put a proper patch, doesn't cost a cent either. even if you don't buy tires from them

HTH!
