I have an Alpine deck with 25 or 30 X 4 that came with the car...
That should be enough to give descent sound right? I am not expecting a thumping sound like the others but it should be better or way better than stock. But it still sound fairly weak. (stock speakers by the way).
Could it be a wiring issue or those stock speakers are just worthless? Isn't the rear speakers have built-in amp on them? Could that be the issue?

It could be the deck. That isn't a whole lot of power coming out. The stock speakers in my 90csq don't sound too bad at all. You might want to get an amp or a stronger CD deck. Although, it could be that you have different speakers than I do.
