I want to raise my door a little.......
What would be the best approach to take if my coupe's door has dropped about 3/4 inch over the years? I can't see an easy way to get some vertical adjustment. The main reason is to stop the squeeling wind sound from the window, but also so I don't have to keep slamming the door to get it closed properly.

Loosening the bolts is easier said than done. Been trying to accomplish this for a while...
but the bolts defy any reasonable effort to reach them with a non-body damaging tool.
I even bought some special "crooked-neck" wrenches to reach in there.
For what it's worth -assuming you can loosen all four door bolts- the two bolts that face the door jamb (inner most) have a threaded adjustment bushing under them. Remove the bolts and turn the adjustment bushings to change the "angle" of the door - in other words - to square it up.
To raise the whole thing, you need to loosen the outer bolts too and lift it up.
If there's anyone who has done this successfully - without causing body damage - please write and let us know what tools you used and how you did it.
I'm beginning to think it's going to have to go to a body shop and have them do it... wonder what that costs?? Thanks!

Absolutely difficult to do. Been trying for 4 years....
One VERY experienced Audi wrench said he used a jack and 2x4 and bent it up, said you can't get the adjustment right, ever. I haven't done this, because it seemsit would bend right back eventually.

One more try, then I surrender! Check these diagrams...
good luck!
If anyone has ever loosened these bolts - please post here and let us know how it was accomplished, what tools, etc. Thanks!

* loosen bolts 1, 2
* loosen or tighten with angle wrench US 2598
* move door with hinge
* tighten bolts = 30 Nm (22 ft lb)
Sounds easy, huh? hahahahahaha
(Anyone ever seen Angle Wrench US 2598 ?)

I know what I have to do now....
I simply have to drive my car upside down for ten years and let the door naturally drop back into alignment. I can't believe no-one has tried this yet.
