Default Idle Stabilizer Valve

Quick question for you guys-any help is appreciated. I'm driving an 88 80q. I get idle problems after my car has been doing extended city driving. It'll jump up to around 1400 rpm, then drop suddenly only to jump back up to 1400. It does this repeatedly when idling, but resets itself if the car is restarted. I've replaced both control units-same problem occurs. The only code I get is 2342-oxygen sensor. Any ideas? The O2 sensor and the ISV are expensive items to replace-any tips for diagnosing/fixing. Thanks

Christian

Default 02 Sensor is not expensive if you get a universal one and splice the wires. Call NAPA or your FLAPS

Ask them for the price of the universal sensor for your car. I happen to have the receipt for mine here. It was $61.99CDN, and the NAPA PN is OS872. Also check www.20v.org for the PN of a BOSCH sensor that will also work for you. The procedure for cleaning the ISV is on there too.

http://www.20v.org</a
