Default If I disconnect my ISV connection the engine stalls immediately..

is this normal? Reading on 20v.org it sounds like the engine should keep running when the connector to the ISV is unplugged.
TIA

Default I'm no expert, but my understanding is

ISV = idle stabilizer valve. If this is disconnected, whats there to keep the rpm's from dropping off.

Just my 2 cents. Maybe 1 cent.

Default Mine does that too, but not quite immediately..

The engine will hang in there maybe about 20-30 seconds or so running at 300 RPM before it stalls out.

What I do know is 300 RPM is way below normal idling speed for the engine. It should be 750-850 RPM idle. If you have the throttle open while the ISV disconnected, the engine will run, it will just not idle. Also my engine seems to run smoother with the ISV off disconnected, but all German cars have a ISV or idle control valve of some sort, so it must be there for a reason.

Default Interesting - I read about Hotshot on their web site. I wonder why it isn't used instead of R-134..

especially since it is up to 20% more efficient than R-134 and 8% more efficient that R-12?

Sounds like good stuff... from their web page description. Be nice if it was everywhere - every repair shop - improved efficiency plus compatible with all oil. Hmmmm....

Maybe cause their company controls the rights to the chemical formula for Hot Shot?

And R134a is an outdated, less efficient, but widely manufactured refrigerant that is already a standard?
