Just changed the bastard a couple years ago!
No visable signs of damage externally.
It acted like the key was sticking, then went to start, and it stayed in the start position. Luckily I was able to turn it back, but it wasnt easy, then it wanted to stay on.
Got a replacement from a VW dealer. ;O)

who knows when it will go out? Plus, they aren't too expensive, even from the dealer!
I'm ordering one!

if Audi has a newer version of the switch?
Maybe a "C, D, or E" version? Because the replacement was also a B version.
We'll see how long it lasts......

Same switch for many Audis...not just B3/B4s...I've replaced 3 or 4 of them in C4s (100/S4/A6/S6)...all had the recall done once already!
