ohk guys, im tired of fighting this one on my own, working on a 91 model 80 quattro. when i got it, the wiring was all clooged and mangled and duct taped/ electrical taped together, including a very poor attempt at installing a stereo, i went in and pulled the stereo mess out, and installed a diff stereo in it(as the original was missing faceplate, thus, useless) and since then i cannot get the instrument cluster lights to work, the clock light still works, but none of the other backlighting works, i cannot figure out why. i hooked the grey w/ blue stripe up to the dimmer point on the stereo, as thats where it should go as far as i can tell from my wiring diagrams. so what i need to know, is if anyone knows what wire/pin number provides power, and what wire/pin number provides ground for the friggin backlights on instrument cluster so i can maaaaayyybbbbeee figure out where the problem is, and maybe get it fixed, before i start using my head as a mallet on said instrument cluster.. x_x
also its a 5cylinder ng engine, vin code c, if that helps anyone out

Is the stereo plugged in while you have this issue?
If so, remove the stereo and see if the lights work.

Already tried, no effect
