I've got a 90 5cyl. 10v with a loud knocking sound coming from the engine, any ideas.....

That's pure craziness.

My motor had perfect oil level before and after all that a happened, but being starved of oil before I bought it is a possibility.

Hydrolic lifters is what my mechanic told me last time I took it to him,

Fixed it for about a month by adding this "oil additive"

And and in case you're wondering.....

The "Hurricane 4" main bearing engine fix. When Hurricane 4's spin a main bearing, a quick fix was to take a leather belt and cut a section to use as a main bearing. It works, and rumors have it the army lads did it right out in the field when mains got bad. Crazy!
