88 90Q -- up until now, my abs switch had been working, meaning that the "abs off" light would come on when i hit the switch. well, when i got the new pads, they had wires with a plug on the end coming out about 10 inches. upon inspecting the old pads, this wire was there, but very short, and was not plugged in to anything at all. so i just cut the wires on the new pads. i wouldnt think this has anything to do with my abs switch, but now when i hit the switch, the "abs off" light does not come on. so what could be the problem here? thanks.

....I cleaned them all awhile ago and they were great, but now they're getting iffy again. The ABS switch didn't work AT ALL when I got the car, but worked like a charm after the cleaning. Also, I've noticed that the ABS will only kick on/off if I'm driving straight and not on the brakes....weird.
I can't imagine you messing with the sensors in the wheel hubs resulting in the system not deactivating. I put a sensor in about 1-2mm too shallow once and the ABS was going off every 20 feet. Other than that, I dunno....good luck with it.
