they go in the inlet (front) of the 471A sensor. depending on the thickness O-ring u install
limits the volume of air (and increases velocity) that passes over the wires. Basically you trick the sensor into thinking it is still with the old MAF housing, so that you don't get mismatched fuel maps. Use either the smallest or second smallest I.D. ring. Those two best mimic 4pin MAF characteristics
