Default K&N filter in the stock airbox or Cone filter? What do you use?

I like the look of stock, but is there a substantial increase in power with the cone filter?

Also, I am not crazy about the extra noise of the cone filters. Loud doesn't always mean more power.

Default Used the K&N Panel, but 1PissedOff90 convinced me to switch back to stock filter.

Default You should read mance's test, however K&N does pass a lot more air,

a cone might be equilivant to a k&N panel, however a k&N one might be the greatest of all. Def. more airflow than stock, however the air is not filtered as well.

Default I've used the K&N cone and K&N panel in the past...

I'm back to the stock filter right now and I like it just fine (with some minor airbox mods).

Default Modified stock airbox with OE paper filter on both my cars.

I have a K&N panel from a CQ for sale if anyone wants it, that was the first thing I removed when I bought the car.

I'm trying to find a bigger airbox that will fit the CQ. With the hot-air intake crap removed, there is room for a much bigger airbox, but not enough room for the huge 12v A6 box I have laying around.

I wouldn't call 4 cfm "a lot more" - I'd call it barely a difference.

Default In addition the stock TB only flows about half as much air as the worst filter in the test, so......

more air, more dust, more dirt, small bugs, etc, etc - and be sure you don't oil it too much...
