Keyless entry keyfob

Keyless entry keyfob
I just baught a 93 CS Quattro, and it has the little black buttons on the b-pillars, but didnt come with any keyless entry keyfob. I did a search on keyless entry and gathered that if I have the buttons on the b-pillar, then I have keyless. What's the best place to source out a keyfob. My drivers lock is broken so anytime I want to lock or unlock the car I have to do so from the passenger door.
Once I get a fob, how do I go about programming it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

eh, just upgrade to a standard RF model
Chances are that if its even still working it won't last for long. Plus you have to be like withing 10 feet of it to make it work. pointless IMO.

It's not a fob. The IR sender is built right into the key, very slick!
A dealer will be able to source the proper key and cut it to match your locks based on the VIN.
The programming procedure is around in the archives someplace. I've never done it but I know it isn't too hard. The dealer might do it for you if you buy a key from them.
The only drawback is they are IR not RF senders. IR is line-of-sight like a TV remote. You have to have the key pointed at the receiver on the B-pillar and the range on my S6 is about 20 feet with brand new batteries. Newer RF systems that use radio signals that can pass trough objects are much better and have longer range. It is still worth it, but not as convienient as RF.

So is there a button you have to press or something? It's still worth it to me, because the drivers lock is inoperative, and this will allow me to lock and unlock the car from outside.

Just spoke with the local Audi dealership. They said that the car's too old, and they cant order keys from Audi anymore.

Yes, there is a button on the key
