Is it possible to just disable or unplug the connection to the knock sensor, so my engine stops tweaking because of it? I'm pretty sure it's a bad sensor because I do not hear any knocking. If I unplug where it goes to, will my engine just pretend it isn't there and be like "whatever", or will it continue flipping out?
Thanks,
Mike.

You need a new knock sensor. My Coupe is having the same problem but seems to be much worse then yours. Make sure they get the right sensor for your ECU( I dont know if 12v 90's came in differnt ECU's)! I got mine replaced but the dumb-*** garage used the sensor used for the Bosch ECU'ed 20v's, but I have a Hitachi ECU'ed 20v, go figure.
