I have piaa 5300k bulbs and they seem pretty decent to me, but since I have nothing to compare it to (true HID) I can't determine how well they are.

but compared to my rally lights.... stock lighting sucks!
I need to capture some video of my winter rallies, where I dim the lights as I approach crests to check for oncoming.... the difference is amazing!

Ok.... so... here's where you start.
If you pull off the bumper/cover, you will see the cross-member that bolts to the front of the frame; covers the front of the car.... 2 bolts on each end. I mounted my brackets using those bolts (had to get longer bolts... they're a metric thread). I took two pieces of angle iron, drilled the holes to match the car in one, cut out two chunks to allow access to the bolts in the other (also have to notch the one side slightly to clear the front cross-member), then, weld them together to get a piece of square tube. Then, notches were cut in the aluminium bumper to allow square tube to sit flush with the top and bottom of the bumper. Get everything lined up (bolt bracket to car, remount bumper without bumper cover, and tack-weld two pieces of square tube to stick out the front of the bumper. Remove the bracket from the car, and fully weld the brackets all together. Repeat for the other side of the car.
Then, you will need to make up the light bars to mount to the brackets. I used angle and square tube. I also had to weld a tab to the top of the square tube on the car bracket, because I didn't measure properly, and had to extend the top out to make things line up.
I didn't take pictures when I made it... but I have these from when I pulled the bumper off (and some from the middle of last winter..... driving through icy fog).

And incase you're wondering, here's how i've mounted my switches (I won't even bother going into detail how i've wired them.... 1 relay per light, 1 switch per pair, and a master switch to select between on-with-highs-only, off, on-whenever-the-F-I-want-them.) The master switch isn't shown.... it's hidden behind turn-signal stock.... but there was a spot in the dash that could be drilled through to mount a 3-position toggle switch.... feel around the dash, there's a soft spot that is probably meant for a switch.... so thats what I used.

Good luck. Any other questions, email me.
