Its really easy and straight forward, the only thing you really need to know is the bolt pattern when removing and installing.. looks like you got a decent price on the parts. Thats good.
Why do you need valve stem seals? are you doing a valve job? what if your piston rings are shot? Did the mech do a compression test????????????????????????

The place I ordered parts from said that you replace the valve stem seals when you replace the head gaskets. (?) It said it on their web site.

AS for the other stuff needing replacement,
I don't know. Maybe I'll have it done in a year or two. It isn't billowing smoke, just a tiny puff when it shifts, when the rpm's rev a little.

Default I was gonna have the tranny serviced but.....

I was just told by the dealer that it's REAL hard to do and takes hours. So I guess I'll skip it. No wonder the tranny's go bad if they can't be serviced easily. Dealer wants $400 to do it, says it has to be just the right temperature (the fluid) and they hook it to a computer to measure the temperature before they change it (???)

Default Re: Look at all the parts I just ordered:

my ported head needs seals and guides, BADLY...it would billow smoke at start up, on accel, and on shifting. put a different (newer, completely factory) head on the car, now it does none of the above, and that is WITH semi-bad rings and tapered cylinder bores (diameter increases and piston goes upward). rings would have to be almost dead to puff smoke...

Default HEAD BOLTS

Liz,
I tried reply to your email to me and it did not go through.
I think the reason that Racewear bolts are $209.95 is that they are hardened steel and do not stretch.
I understand OEM bolts stretch.
