So I looked at a 1990 20v sedan yesterday. Seems to drive nice, most of the electrical things work. The Bomb is on the way out though, how much do these go for? Does the bomb affect the entire braking system, or just the ABS? People tell me both so I don't know what to believe.

Also the a/c is apparently really weak and needs a recharge. The system is still R12, which illegal to refill in Canada. Is it expensive to convert to R134? Or would I just have to drive to the US and have someone there do it? I don't think I want a car without working a/c, but don't want to spend hundreds of dollars to fix it. My current car has no a/c and I hate it in the summer.

There is the usual wear and tear on any older car. Clearcoat is coming off on one of the doors, the trim has been banged up and broken, nothing unusual. One side of the hood doesn't close flush with the top of the fender, is that something that can be adjusted? I did a history check on the vehicle and no claims for big accidents came up.

A couple of the sensors have been damaged so the ABS has been turned off. My bombs going aswell. Warning light comes on when I hit the brakes hard. Dont buy a used bomb!!

Does the bomb affect the entire braking system, or just the ABS? Is the bomb only found on 20V 5 cylinder motors?

Does the Audi 80 quattro (90-92) also have a bomb?
