I've been fixing up a very decent 1990 90q I got for cheap and the one part I have left to repair/replace is the throttle position sensor which is plaguing me at this point. This model came with either a Bosch or Hitachi TPS, and online I can only find the Bosch replacement, which is exactly the version my car doesn't come with. Volkswagen still has the Hitachi version but it goes for over $300. If anyone is parting out an old 20v engine with the Hitachi parts I'd be very gracious. The part number is 054133154c, I've done searches everywhere but cannot find this part in the proper Hitachi composure.

There is a 1990 90 non-quattro at the junkyard near me. I'll try to grab the TPS next time I'm there. I'll probably just grab the whole throttle body - if it's anything like the 12v TB the TPS is installed in a very exact way.

Thanks for the research, but neither of the ebay items have the throttle position sensor which I need. It looks like one of them has no sensor on the throttle body and the other one has the Bosch sensor.
I fortunately have found the correct sensor on another forum and my mechanic is going to install it today. Regarding the non-turbo at the junkyard I'll let you know if there's an issue with the TPS I picked up, taking a look at that car would be greatly appreciated if it has the Hitachi TPS.
