My 1995 V6 12v stalled twice on me on Sunday
and ran rather rough.
As I was driving today to see my mechanic, same problem and got a CEL.
He pulled codes and said it was running rich.
He then gave me 2 possibilities:
1. MAF has gone bad.
2. O2 sensors need replaced
I have never replaced the O2 sensors in 5 years,
so that is step 1 for this week.
What can go wrong with an MAF? (Mine was bored
by Mance). Only the electronics can go bad since
the rest of the MAF is just a tube.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks.

You can test the operation of the o2 sensors. The ideal air fuel mix gives, 0.5volts from the o2 sensor. The ECU continually alters the fuelling, so the o2 sensor voltage rises and falls (approx
every second). The reading on a meter should vary between approx 0.3-0.8volts as this happens.
I don't know the v6, but it is usually read from the black wire, which must stay connected during the test.
I forget whether low volts or high is rich, but if the o2 sensor fails, the ecu will give a rich mixture to prevent engine damage.
