Default Mance Mounts in the rear you say...

Having a parts car in the garage at this very moment I decided to give a shot at mounting some Mance Mounts in the rear of a '91 90q20v. I had the back seat out, speaker removed, seat belt tensioner removed and the top deck pushed out of the way. I used a right angle air drill with Mance's standard topside drilling guide:

It was a tight fit, but worked like a charm:

From seeing a CQ in pictures with the strut tower exposed I can say it would be far easier to mount in those. Note the B4 cannot take the mounts in the rear, nor can FWD models, this is for TYP89, CQ, 4kq, Urq and other model that can take front strut mounts in the rear.

Mance is also going to make us some drill guides that can go in from underneath for drilling the rears, no need to even do what I have done to confirm rear fitment. The current guide work topside only, but no worries for anyone considering mounting these in the rear as there will be a specific guide just for that!

We are about to lock in the production run and there is still time to get on board at the $345 price. If interested please pop an email over to contact@euro-audi-parts.com and I can get over information on the purchase.

Cheers!

Default actually the B4 owners are luckier as we already have a more sophisticated, higher tech,...

more precise & stronger rear suspension courtesy of Audi. I wouldnt trade rear suspensions with any B3 or other earlier chassis although admittedly I envy the dramatic ehancement and relative small cost that will be enjoyed by those who get to experience these at both ends instead of just up front. I would LOVE to be able to experience that before/after modification first-hand.

Sadly for the B4 people including myself the same kind of improvement will come at significantly more $$ than a pair of solid mounts.
