Default Mechanic replaces CV boot, now wheel bearing making noise . . .

My mechanic recently replaced the driver's side CV boot, and now the wheel bearing on the same side is making noise.

Coincidence, or could he have done something that damaged the wheel bearing in the process? For example, would overtightening the axle nut cause this problem? TIA?

Default Re: CV boot, now wheel bearing

Tightening the axle nut does not effect the wheel bearing.

Rolling the car, with the axle removed can trash a bearing.

Original wheel bearings from 1993?

Probably just coincidence. ;o)
