Hello,
I purchased my car without an owners manual and am attempting to find out what weight oil is required/recommended for the 12-valve V6.
I would like to use Mobil 1 oil, but am not sure what is proper for this engine. The car is being driven daily in 90 degree temps. I don't baby it, but I don't abuse it either. Is 20w50 too heavy?
It does consume more oil than I would like, and I have six quarts of M1 20w50 sitting here begging to be used...FYI, it's a '95 90 Quattro.

I would say that the 20W-50 is not right. Maybe a 5W-40
is better. I believe that is what is suggested in the owners manual. You can use M1, but your oil consumption may go up.
