If you are driving a 2.8 12v, then the motor mounts that 034 sells are not exactly a direct fit. 034's mounts are designed for a b5 A4 (2.8) which uses a seperate mount and bracket, where as your B4 90, although it has the same engine, uses a mount that is integral with the bracket. These oe mounts are so pricey because you are buying the mount and bracket as one piece. In order to utilize the 034 density mounts in a B4 12v, you must:

-remove mount/bracket assemblies from car

-remove mount from bracket (which can only be done by first grinding/ cutting off the crimping tabs (that are accessible) with a die grinder/cut off wheel, then using a quality air hammer/chisel around the edge of the mount/bracket contact area to finally pop out the mount)

-then, as the B5 mounts are constructed with a threaded stud on the bottom, and the B4 mounts are not, you have two options: either cut the stud off the bottom of the new mount and weld the new mount into your bracket; or modify your bracket by enlarging the center hole in the base of the "cup" so that it accomodates the bottom stud of the B5 mount. This means you will now need to secure the mount to the bracket with appropriate nuts and washers, as well as secure the motor to the mount assembly with appropriate nuts and washers. (also, the stud size on the top of the B5/034 mounts is different from that of your B4 mounts; so your origional hardware will not work.)

I tell you this because I have been trying to source performance motor mounts for my 12v for a LONG time. I bought a set of B5 oem mounts with the intention of modifying my brackets to accept them, but I nixed the idea because I didnt want to just replace the soft rubber/hydraulic mounts with the same. Since then, I have made my own solid rubber mounts. I have been running them on my 90 for a few weeks now, and so far I am happy with the results. 0 drivertain slop!!!!! Definate increase in vibration felt in the car...which many people may not want, but I dont mind. I'll try to get some pics up.
