My car was hit. Good time to upgrade. Options?

A friend of mine backed into me the other night(actually two nights in a row) and broke my bumper surround. Aren't there cooler ones to put on, like an RS2 or something. Does any one know what my options are, cost, and sources. Greatly appreciated. thanks and happy holidays.

Well Primo welcome to the same boat I'm in. Mine is not as damaged as yours, at least I could use Wurth's "Thermoplastic Repair kit" to mend it together until spring time. I'm contemplating on using Sierra Motorsports RS2 bumper skin and fabricate a way of using my DOT metal bumper piece and bumper shocks so I can have at least a modicum of protection from a frontal bump.
My other alternative is using the OEM S2 Euro bumper from Europrice and fabricating a way of using the bumper shocks with it, which I think is feasible. I have the schematics of both US DOT bumper and the Euro bumper assemblies and getting info of the spacing from the body of the Euro one.
I have a friend who's machine shop is willing to make the adapter for the bumper shocks to the Euro piece but I have to get exact measurements for him. It's say if you can hold out til spring because changing up right now in the winter is a real bitch

if you cant DUCT it, well, ya know they do make red duct tape, BTDT when my sister decided to slide through an interestion, taking out a dead-end sign (with her ex-'88 90). that bumper still needs replacement...
anyway, if you live in the snowy belt, tape it and dont worry about it til spring. both the S2 and RS2 mount the same way to the car. not much between you and the guy in front of you. and yes, my car has the S2/RS2 front end, and yes i do worry about it.
btw, tell your "friend" to pay up and watch what they are doing. a new OE piece is something like 500 before adding the shocks to it (ask your dealer for ****s-n-giggles). S2 will easily dbl that price, and the RS2 will more than easily triple it. a purely street car that is not a turbo convert should use a DOT legal bumper, IMO. not worth the risk.
