Default My car told me to f@ck off!

Here's the scenario. My car's dipstip reads halfway in the "good zone". I figure well I should top it up. My car says F-U and spews it all out as I drive until it reads halfway again and then stops spewing. Can anybody tell where the leak is by this symptom?

Default It's all over the back and passenger side of my engine...

so it's very hard to tell where it's coming from. It's very strange that it stops when my dipstick reads half. I thought somebody may have had this weird problem before. I am starting by replacing my valve cover gasket which I know leaks.

Default Where was yours plugged?

I recently replaced the rubber hose section because it had completely disintegrated. It was letting the crankcase gases in to the egine compartment so I know the hose is clear until there.

Default Re: I'd have to doublecheck the bentley for the 4cyl setup, but...

...on the 5cyl (20v included) there is a metal pip that runs from the bottom of the intake boot, around the back of the block, and down to the crankcase (below and behind the p/s pump). There is a wadding of steel wool-like material that was clogged with ****e. I bought a new one from my local friendly audi dealership and I was all set.
I was getting oil leaking from the oil fill cap, the back of the valve cover gasket, and the dipstick kept popping out due to the positive crankcase pressure. hth.

Default Interesting. I'll check that...

I didn't really pay much attention to the steel woolie thing when I replace the rubber hose. It's right before the hose.

Default ok... check this stuff...

first, check your obvious stuff. drain plug and filter fitting. check your sump gasket. also, take a look inside your airbox to make sure oil wasn't forced up your breather tube and into the box. if it was, clean everything.
