Default My father has a cabriolet, and the dealership said he needs a new idle valve, anyone have info on

this? They wanted I think $350 for the new valve and install. How much is the part? How hard is the install?

The idle valve can be easily cleaned. Common problem. Search the archives for how-to's.

If cleaning it doesn't help than buy it from an online parts store. Here is the same part at thepartsbin for half the price. Shouldn't take more than 1 hout to install. Look for instructions on cleaning the idle valve as they get grimmy. This will also help you if you decide to replace the valve latter on because it says how to remove it.
