My intermitent wipers stopped working, probable cause? Can a relay go bad?

Exactly...mine was doign the same and my rear wiper never worked...
..replaced the combo stalk and everything works great; wipers start and park fine via the intermittent 'tap' of the stalk. HTH.

So how much do these run? Do I need the whole stock or just the right portion?
I have the squarish shaped stock, not rounded like some of the CQ's and 90's. Also, would it be possible to replace them with the update, more rounded ones just as a direct swap?

I'm pretty sure they are two-piece..and run about $120 each. 
I'm not sure about the upgrade...personally, is the rounder look worth 250 bucks?..naaa.
Replacement is really easy: remove steering wheel, loosen stalk clamp, remove harness', detach two sides...install is reverse.
