I was thinking of maybe a screw in the side of it. I can't seem to get a good grip with the "oil filter wrench" any ideas? The thing is all f'ed up from me trying to get a grip on it. I think I am leaking oil too.

I've been using the same kind for YEARS. its a hand pressureadjustable wrench with 4 serated teeth on two curved arms. Its a pretty standard one. Nothing special. Similar to this one with more teeth and more 2x adjustable <img src="http://www.toolweb.com.tw/Oil%20Filter/MW7051.jpg">

I hate the belt ones, never seem to work for me. If there is some oil or anything on the filter the rubber will just slip.

those are ok on the Mobil filters but teh Mann filters I just can't seem to get em to work.

I thought I got a cheap one and went to sears and got a "expensive" one, nope. ****er just slips around.

Or screwdriver all the way through it.

lol, its all in the "pinch" once the handle pinches the rubber it will grip real good
