Default Mystery "connector" leaking lots of engine oil????

Gentleman,

I have a 1988 B3, 2.3L 10v NG engine, and on the engine block, towards the front side (basically below spark plug 2 and 3), I have 2 individual connectors which attach to the engine block. Out of the top one its spewing lots of engine oil!!! Can someone help me identify these connectors and tell me if tightening them needs torquing before I go in their and really mess things up!!!

P.S. If anyone can attach an engine diagram which also shows any "connectors" attached to the engine block, I would greatly appreciate it as I cannot currently afford a Bentley at this time.

are their two connectors to the oil pressure sensor? and, more importantly, do I need to torque and to what spec?

I know that on the V6 there are two. If they are loose, just crank them down to hand tight. However, from what you are describing you will probably have to replace the oil pressure sensor. If the diaphragm that measures the pressure gets a hole in it, the oil will flow right through the sensor and out around the wire. Same thing happened to my car. I replaced both sensors. I think that they use two sensors, one for high pressure and one for low.

Yeah, I think one is used to check pressure at/near idle, and turns on the light, and the other one is used to check pressure above 2000rpm and it turns on the light and buzzer. You can unplug the wires and see what happens.

Thanks Gents!

Purchased switch today at NAPA. So far, they seem to have all parts I've needed for the B3 at cheap prices (cheaper than online!).
FYI: My B3 does have two switches: top one is "white" and bottom is "brown" for anyone else that runs into this.

Hey folks,

Update:
replaced top switch (white) and no more leaks!!! Will replace bottom one when cash flow comes in this week, just for kickers.
Also: make sure that you have a DEEP 24mm socket to install/remove this switch. It's a bit tight, as I'm too lazy to remove hoses, but it can be done in less than 15 minutes!!!

Thanks again gentlemen for your input and advice!
