Yeah. That is very strange. I used to get knock sensor codes with the cams I had in that car... it turned out to be a bad knock sensor and that was resolved. I did have another code being thrown after long drives, but that never effected performance. I was never able to check what that one was.

The oxygen sensors never gave me problems. I may have had one replaced. I forget though if that was on my coupe or the 12v. :-/ Sorry. I really think that they're in decent shape. They never gave me issues. There is a chance that they could be shot.

I'm just saying that it's a matter of perspective. I worked as a VW tech for 5 years and know my way around cars pretty well. I was an ASE Master tech, but my certs have lapsed. I would rate myself an 8.
