Default New Audi Owner

Last thursday, June 14, I bought a 1988 Audi 80, non Quatro, with 160,000 miles. I coulden't be happier. I would tell you how much I paid, but that might upset some folks, My brother sells Audis in Reno, and this one was a trade-in. I could not pass it up. Everything works.

I have some questions, I'm hopeing someone out there can help me.

1. How many of these were imported to the U.S.?

2. Are there any cute tricks I should know about. For performance, as an example.

3. Are there any other Audi 80 owners out there?

4. How many miles can I expect to get out of this car? Considering I take good care of it!

If you do have one of these type of cars, with a sun roof, the manual calls for silicone spray lube, on the runners. It makes it open and close so much easier. This is one of the first things I learnded, besides how great this little car is.

Get back to me,
Tyler, in Reno, Nv.

I just detailed an 88' 80 a few months ago. 160,000 is about all they are good for. ;-)

sales is at this page https://www.audiworld.com/model/historical/sales.html
You can put the check engine light in you car if it is not already a California car. I drive a 1990 Audi 80 with 194,000mi. minimum mileage to expect is 400,000 mi. well not every car goes that long, but if you treat it good there is no reason it cannot I have seen it done in the audis.
The german cars have something american and japanesse cars do not; engineering. It cost more to buy a car with engineering but if you care how the car is going to drive when it is older than one week of the lot it is a good investment.
