Default new plugs, now the car seems sluggish

replaced the ancient ngk plugs that looked factory OE with bosch tri's in my 94-90q...now the car seems a bit sluggish especially when given a decent throttle. does it take a bit for the computer to remap? The old plugs were actually not in too bad of shape, just old and worn down.
the bosch tri's i put in have a 1.0mm gap...right in between what the manual says for tolerance.
in what instance would you want the hotter .80mm gap?
my wires are bremi and are factory OE, how long do plug wires last? This is 9yrs, could the plugs be worn out maybe?

Default Did you yank the wires when you pulled the boots off? If they're old, you may have f'd the wires up.

Been there, done that with my Cabrio. Had to replace the wires. They get old, connections get corroded - pulling = misfiring.

Are you detecting any misfiring?

Default Your not suppose to gap Tri, or Quad electrode plugs! ;O)

Its been known, that not every Audi engine responds well to the Tri or Quad electrode plugs!

Reason many choose NGK's, or other plug. That and the $$$ saved not purchasing those "exotic" plugs! ;O)

Default oh no, no gaping, i know better then that

i bought the 1.0mm plugs already gap'd from the factory, they were good from the box. If you were dumb enough to try and gap those, you'd be in for one hell of a time.

Default i did have to use a bit of force

thats a better thought...being the boots were on really well, damn near seized on and you can't get your fingers down that far for grip i did have to basically grab it like rope and give it a tug and jiggle. they are the original wires, its possible inside some wires broke. I do think i felt a bit of a misfire upon throttle, some hesitation.
i have just about brand new beru wires I bought for my beamer a few years ago but i only have 4, crap.....
i could missmatch since not all of the boots were hard to get off, the ones in the front you can grab and they came off easy...the rears are most likely the ones that got damaged if anything

Default crazy prices

funny how most decent wire sets run about 50 bucks for a v8, but bosch wires list for 220 and you can get them for 1/2 that. Yeah bosch stuff is generally good but 4x the price? I would hope for 4x the results which wont happen.
eh, guess its just another audi thing.

Default I saw a guy use extension cord wire once. If you wanna be cheap. . .

I personally used extension cord once to jump start a car when no jumper cables were available.
