Default new rear brakes...269x22 VENTED rear rotors :)

to all of you who say upgrading the rear brakes isnt worth it....wrong....pedal feel is MUCH better with larger bore calipers, and the car stops much quicker with less nose dive, and less effort....

my current brake setup:

FRONT: 280x25mm Audi 5000 front rotors with 4-piston wilwood dynalite's, braided hoses, EBC green pads

REAR: 269X22 Audi 200 turbo wagon rotors, with Audi V8 calipers, and new, standard brake hoses with ATE pads

rear rotors were about $40 each, then the calipers were $100 each rebuilt...i gave them my old stock rear calipers as cores, and they didnt care...BUT if you need the correct cores, then you can get a pair from force 5 for about $100

rear brake hoses from ATE are $13 each

so....$300 for vented rears...not too bad

Default How are 200 wagon rear rotors 4x108? All 200's are 5x112...

I was thinking of using B5-S4 rear calipers over B3-sedan rotors...

Redrilled I bet, the front rotors must be re-drilled too

Default more detail....

no pics yet, and the rotors are re-drilled....

you can do that to rotors without any problems as they are hub-centric...all rotors are (hubless ones)

the mounting ears had to be shaved down about 1/16th of an inch as well as the caliper carriers...thn they bolt right on...

the rotor from the 200TQW is dimentionally identical to the NEWER A8 rear 269 rotor, as well as the caliper....different part numbers, but same dimentions...i held them next to eachother....

the A8 rear rotor has the internal vent vanes arranged differently....thats all....and its about $100 more per rotor...

as far as the lines and e-brake, the caliper is a GIRLING and so was the stock, so they were IDENTICAL...same pressure hose supply threads (B3 90 Q hoses thread into the V8 calipers) and the e-brake levers are the same...even the bleeder screws are the same...only diff is that the piston is larger, and the caliper is WIDER to accept the 22mm wide rotor...

as said before, the pedal is much softer (feels like MORE power assist) and the car stops much easier...

also, by the time i need new rotors, i will have already installed 5-lug hubs.....

thats next....i think i can get 5 lug FRONT hubs for about $80 each new but i have to do more measuring....
