Default Re: New S4

I like the molding, it breaks the car up a little. I do however don't agree on the v8 in the car. I really think it should have been another turbocharged 6 cylinder.

Default Audi had enough problems with Turbos with the B5 S car..

Go browse over the s4 forum for a minute.. just about everyone has blown a turbo.. Audi learned the hard way that north americans dont know how to drive turbo cars (warm up, cool off)..

The V8 is in there to compete with the V8 M3, and to compete with american V8 cars..

Default IMO, the molding would be ok....

on any colour darker than red. i.e. nogaro, brilliant black, etc etc.

If I were to purchace one, I would pay the extra $$ to have those colour matched otherwise.

It's funny reading the general reactions in the S4 forum.
Some people have legit reasons for not liking it, but the majority seem to be playa-hayta's. :-p

It's not all THAT bad.

Default There's no replacement for displacement ! :-)

The engine choice is along BMW's methodology - refinement and power, it's often thought turbocharged motors don't produce the seemless and effortless power of a naturally aspirated larger capacity engine and therefore the quality of the whole driving experience - a teutonic thing!
The black molding on the rear looks very BMW, like on the 5 series sport models. The black moldings on the side sills look a bit odd, a typical Audi styling detail of late it seems.

Default Read the article on it...

the V8 sounds sweet...smoother and more powerful although not as tuneable...it's the same weight as the V6 also...

Default The RS 6 is the turbo S-car's swan song; they're doing away with all turbo S-cars.

The S4 and S6 will have 8-cyl engines, the S3(which I hear we're getting soon) will have a tuned VR6, and the S8 will have a W12.

So I hear, at least.
