So, I was out looking at cars with my dad and one of the new cars he is looking at is the sonata. I was actually pretty impressed with most aspects of the car with one exception: it has a suspension rattle. A looseness a lot like what the 90 gets when the strut mounts fail. After looking this up online it seems nearly all sonatas have this slight rattle over bumps from the factory. As it worsens the problem seems to be... excessive movement in the strut mount. So far, the dealers and company (Hyundai) claim this is normal. My question is, is it normal? And... Why do some cars not seem to be affected by wearing mounts at all? For example the old acura my dad currently has, with a zillion miles on it, is still very tight despite never having any mounts replaced. To me it seems like the Hyundai is either made wrong or just uses lower quality parts...i wouldnt think there should be any play like that in a brand new car. Thoughts?!?
