Official points for jack and stands

Looking at old posts, there seem to be various opinions, so...
Is there an "official" way to use a floor jack and jack stands to raise a 90? The Bentley manual on CD says nothing. The owner's manual shows (sort of) where to put a floor jack, and says to use jack stands, but doesn't say where to put them.
In front, the floor jack goes in a different place than the OEM jack, so I guess the stands can go under the OEM points. In back, the floor jack seems to use the OEM jack points, which leaves me unsure where to put the stands!
I'm a rookie mechanic that wants to do it right, so any advice from the pros will be appreciated.

They are the little ridges on the sides under the doors. The reinforced parts are thicker, but these are desinged for the spare tire jack, not a floor jack. I've bent mine a bit using jack stands, not really a big deal though. I try to use the subframe (between the control arm mounting points, front and rear on my quattro) for the jack stands.
