Default Oil light on dash keeps coming on!

After replacing the bad oil pressure sender, the light came on and would flicker once in a while. It would go away when in neutral and on stops at the light but would come back on when given a little gas. When cruising, it stay on.

I am thinking it might be the oil level but I thought I checked, and it was still close to the "high" mark.

Any thoughts? Ideas? TIA

...btw, that took care of my leak and drip on the bottom. Hope it lasts.

Default or oil pressure sensor

could be the oil sensor, i replaced mine on the 88 for a few bucks just for the hell of it, being it checks for the oil pressure if its too low, etc...mine looked ancient so in with a new one. for the 20 bucks or something i'd rather do that then have my oil drain, dead sensor and not even know till its too late that i am running low on oil.

Default I just changed the oil pressure sender.

unless that's different than the oil pressure sensor.

Default Bad news...

Had this problem on my '91 Bosch 20v coupe.

Intermittent oil lights. Oil level was fine.

One day, the belt to the oil pump started squeaking.

Car is currently waiting for a new oil pump so it can be driven again.<ul><li><a href="http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=915040">Complete Story.</a></li></ul>

Default Is this true MIKTIP?

I thought on the V6, the oil pump is driven by the serpentine belt.

Default Ummm....

Alllll of the 5cyl blocks have the oil pump in the block itself, driven off the crank.

What you circled in that picture is your hydraulic pump, for your power brake assist and power steering assist. Nothing to do with engine oil at all.

Default oil pump is not belt driven.....look here

oil pump is on the front of the engine driven by the crank shaft. What you circled is the power steering pump.<ul><li><a href="http://www.worldlingo.com/wl/translate?wl_lp=RU-en&amp;wl_glossary=gl2&amp;wl_fl=2&amp;wl_rurl=htt p%3A%2F%2Fwww.elcats.ru%2Faudivw&amp;wl_url=http%3 A%2F%2Fwww.elcats.ru%2Faudivw%2F&amp;wl_post=GET"> Audi diagrams</a></li></ul>
