Ok....I've STFA, does anyone have a recommendation what to set ignition timing to?

Engine NG 2.3, all stock, no mods.
Factory setting is 15+2 BTDC. I'm currently running at 18 BTDC. I can't hear any pinging or feel any in the throttle pedal under a heavy load at this setting. I guess the question I am asking is, what is the maximum safe limit before engine damage is a result.
Should I go more?
Should I leave it?
I know for a fact that the timing was very far off, I just did a timing belt/wp/tensioner and adjusted timing when this was done and car has WAY more power.
I am already running premium fuel, anybody BTDT?
