Default Opinions wanted on '90 through '95 90 Quattro's

I guess it's a little slow going looking for a used car, and since I am having to be patient anyways, I am considering whether to hold out for a particular year of the 90 quattro. I want the 20v, and will probably want black leather interior (open to other colors). Exterior color is less important, but prefer black, silver, red. I have heard the '93's are notorious for having an oil leak, so those are better avoided unless the work was done to fix it and seller has documentation. I am really looking for insight into the pro's and con's of the different years. Would a lower milage (150k) 1990 20v be just as good as a higher milage (150k) 1995 20v? I am a freshman in the world of Audis presently, so educate me. Thanks

Default 93 and up 90's were v6's and not 20v's.

So you wont be finding any of those. Good luck finding a 20v, those 5cyls are amazing machines.

Default 12v's or 24v's on V6's? Which engine is better?

Alright, that makes sense. What are they, 24v's or did they design them as 12v's?

Default 12 valves. Unlike in my name where it says 12 vavle?

Id go with the 20v. Man this 12v is hard as hell to MOD. Its a great strong beater though.

Default Thanks Vavle...Vlav...Vlav...Uhhhh

I won't be TOO worried about mods. When I was considering a BMW 325i I wanted to go as far as a Dinan chip and performance exhaust. The HP and Torque on the 20v (and the V6, too) are plenty for what I want. That's not to say I wouldn't LIKE more but my budget may not permit the "extras" beyond making sure the car is maintained properly.

I have read that the chip fpr the 20v does'nt do much either in the way of HP and Torque gains.

Default 10v turbo... Even more patience required...

...waiting for one of those to go up for sale in good condition. Don't the turbos need work after so many miles or years? Ex$pen$ive, right?
